Pc won't post

Hi having a problem with my Gigabyte H55m-ud2h, when I turn it on 4 LEDs, (2 green 1 yellow and 1 red) marked phase LED come on and then it proceeds to turn off and on every 4 seconds or so staying on for about 6 seconds. This is with nothing but the mobo and CPU plugged in

Power supply is 680w CPU is an i3

Have you got the cooler attached to the motherboard and the CPU and Motherboard plugs? These are all very important.

just check your psu for problems

Yeah sorry should have said I have the CPU plugged in and the fan spins up and I have tried it in every configuration possible eg 1 ram stick with video card, no video card no ram etc. And I have know way to check the psu but it was working fine last night

Leave it whole except disconnect the OS drive. Fit an internal speaker. See what post/beep code you get per http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm

Thanks to all that answered, tried your solution i7Baby and found it was a DRAM refresh failure so I resat the RAM in the other slots (for the 5th time) with everything connected (for the first time :/) and it seems to be fixed.
