I got a PC I built 3 years ago (minimal dust, shouldn't have been a heat problem), which has been running fine for that time decided one day he didn't want to POST.
The drives all power up so initially I thought GPU. replaced that and still no good. Now I'm stuck between the mobo or ram. I put the new card into the second PCIE slot, no joy.
The pc will turn on when the power button is pressed, but still no POST. if you turn it off by holding the pwr button 4 seconds, it will turn itself back on in about 10 seconds. To get it to stay off the PSU must be switched off and then back on.
I know that behavior is usually a sign of one or the other but can't remember which. I didn't spend enough time troubleshooting before getting the new vid card because I didn't notice it doing this restart thing before.
