Question PC WONT POWER ON GPU RED LIGHT

In the middle of gaming on my day old new built pc the pc randomly turns off and when i tried to turn it back on the gpu flashes a red light and the cpu on the motherboard flashes a red light when i take the power cables out the gpu the pc turns on and the fans spin. when i plug the connectors back in it gives me the same red light.

Spec:
ryzen 5 2600
8gb patriot ram
XFX rx 580 gpu
GIGABYTE B450 AORUS Elite
EVGA 500 watt 80+ psu

i do also need to replace the gpu? it still powers on when plug into the mother board, it just has a red light (which im sure means it needs to be powered)
