Recently I was asked to help repair a PC which wouldn't power on with the only sign of life being the green LED on the motherboard which I think just indicates that power is available. I removed the PSU from the case, shorted pins PS_ON# and COM together and measured the voltages which were all fine. After refitting the PSU and reconnecting the ATX connector, I again shorted pins PS_ON# and COM, switched on the power, and it sprung into life. For some reason though there is no video output from either the video card on the on-board graphics so I cant be 100% sure if the PC has booted up correctly.
Can anybody help with some advice? I'm suspecting the motherboard needs replacing but not feeling 100% im correct.
