Question PC won't power up if the monitor is plugged (weird, help me)

So, i recently switched from HDMI to DisplayPort my monitor is ASUS MG248 144hz
So basically
When i shutdown the pc a red light comes on around the coolmasters fans (which actually never was turned on when pc was shutdown until i switched to DisplayPort) when pc is shutdown only the led lights remain on
I try to power up the pc but nothing happens (by pressing the power up button)
THe only way to power the pc up is taking the monitor cable off and wait till the red light is turned off and then press the power up button and then plug in the monitor cable.
And the ram lights are on so basically the power cable or psu is not broken or anything.
Everything after powering up the pc works pretty well, no problem or anything.
Can somebody tell me how to fix this problem? cuz its a pain to plug it in and off and maybe it can cause damage to the pc, help.

Do you have another graphics card to try out? Or onboard graphics? Might be a problem with your gpu. I had the exact same problem until my GPU died and I got a new one and I no longer had the issue.

It sounds like problem with cable.

I also have 144Hz Asus and while my PC starts normally, monitor is showing "no signal" when I use DisplayPort. With HDMI cable all works.
