I've built a PC for my little brother and tried to upgrade his ram. His system was a i7-2600 on a Asus P8H61-M LE/CSN R2.0 with an 8gb stick of DDR3 ram before the upgrade. I tried to get him more ram since he played games, but when I go another 8gb stick and put it in the other slot, the PC would not display anything. It's only that socket too (DIMM_A), I tried swapping the sticks and tested them in my PC so I knew they worked. As soon as I took out the other ram from the socket, it turned on and booted up like normal. I tried putting ram in both slots alone, and the DIMM_A slot never worked. Is there any way to fix this/ find out what's wrong? I hear that it could be a bent pin or a CPU related issue

That's what I'm trying to find out, but I don't know if there is a way to test that without spending any more money, considering I already bought him 16gb ram and either part is old and hard to find working like new
