Hi,
I came back after a 2 week holiday and my pc (which was fine when i left) won't turn on anymore, when i press the on button my rgb/fans start but as soon as i release the button... no power?. Before I send it off to be checked over is there something I could try? (im not very pc savy :) ), I tried resetting the cmos and even replaced the battery but it was still the same.
I checked all the cabling (disconnecting and reconnecting), none of the caps look blown either. Could it be the Psu is faulty?. psu is a Corsair cx750 and about 2 years old there abouts

Any help would be gratefully received :)

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU: CX750
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model.

You mentioned CX, is the unit a green label or a grey label unit?

When you came home, were your clocks off/blinking?

Any time I go away from the home for more than a day I both turn off the power supply and unplug any power cords and data wiring. You could have very readily had a storm and got hit with a surge, power outage....on a whole other tact, could your pet have urinated on it?
Such things that are impossible to know.

If you aren't tech savvy it would probably be best just to bite the bullet and take it for repair. In a case like this you really need to have a cache of other known working parts that are compatible in order to test individual items with.

No i unplugged everything just in case. no pets bar fish and so far they have not managed to jump out the tank and climb my stair :) :) :). Yeah I think it will be off to the repair guy, just thought I'd aske here just incase it was something silly and easily remedied by me :) .

The label is green
Now is a good time to throw that unit out the window, figuratively and literally speaking! That PSU does not belong anywhere near a PC.
Well don't hold back there :) :) :), Okay time to get a new psu, what do you suggest?, I do plan to slowly upgrade the pc, but i have a car that likes to swallow my money :)

Might want to looking into sourcing(borrow, not buy) a reliably built 650W PSU from a friend or neighbor and see if the system comes back to life.
Yeah i have a mate who builds my pc's so looks like a 200mile trip with the pc to drop it off to him 🙁 . If it is the psu thats faulty what replacement do you suggest?.
Thank you for the help by the way :)........ even if you hate my psu :)

I'd ask you to rule out your PSU before you start throwing money at your issue. If your green labelled CX unit didn't knock the platform out, then you can go and buy a new unit. Troubleshooting isn't about pointing a finger at a random part and then hoping that it's the culprit all along, you go through a checklist. My suggestion is the PSU, someone else from the community will suggest another aspect in your build to look at.
