PC Wont Start After Installing New PSU and New GPU??

Hi all, So when i installed a new PSU and GPU in my brother's PC, it wont start, Fans spin up and HDDs spin up but nothing on screen.
I've tired the on-board graphics and the new PSU, still nothing!
I've tried the old GPU and new PSU , nothing!
I tried putting everything back the way it way (Old PSU and Old GPU) and nothing happened again!!!

Can anyone explain whats happening.

Specs:
Intel Pentium
Motherboard that came with it when we bought it.
Old GPU Nvidia GT 610, New GPU AMD 7770 1GB
Old PSU Zoostorm 300w, New PSU EVGA 430w 80+

Did you plug in the 6 pin power from the PSU to the card?

sounds like a prebuilt that wount accept the vid card upgrade

Hi, when i installed the GT 610 it worked fine?

Hi, I did plug in the PSI power. the psu only has a 6+2 pin input so i only used the 6 pin part.
And the Pentium should be fine, its a good one. I don't think the Pentium would bottleneck or anything.

that's the thing i'll give you this I give folks that want to upgrade prebuilts hopefully I'm wrong in your case and its a easy fix once you find it see that old card may have just got under there radar

some models of store bought computers [dell.hp,acer,ect..] may come with a ''locked or fixed'' bios and may not allow you to change certain hardware as a video card.. this is done to protect them from undue warranty claims and refunds .this is not done to hurt you but to protect them. you really need to see if that upgrade has been proven to work in your model first before you invest money in it .. there are a lot of these threads here at toms to look at some models will allow upgrades and some dont.. and a lot of guys here say ya ya ya when is really no no no...it would be sad you spent $200 on a card that wount post after you installed it as most find out. then get told its your psu and you spend more and end up right back where you are now, but its up to you good luck..


you got to know the the boards in these computers are not like the ones we use to do custom builds witch are open to upgrading with in the boards compatibly . the bios is custom made for there design and just for the parts they authorize to be used on there computers

Hi, thanks for that. When i installed the Nvidia Gt 610 it worked fine? And will the BIOS now lock the computer because the computer wont even start when i us integrated graphics

don't know -- them things are funny -- yyou got to know that folks like HP don't sell these computers for you to be upgrading there sold to work as is out of the box and that's it when its played out you chunk it in the trash and go buy there latest new up to date computer . they don't claim any compatibly for any part outside them . if its not a authorized HP supported part listed to be used on that model well your doing so at own risk..
as I kinda stated above this is why ''we'' do custom builds and not prebuilds .

just go back over everything and be sure you did not miss something during the install of the new card and see if you put your old card back in if it boots up normal

Ok thanks for the help. Just to let you know and hopefully this might help, The motherboard is a ECS H61H2-M2

that's all good but the thing is the bios for the HP is written by and for HP and is not the same bios that will come on the same retail board this is why you go to HP for updates and not ecs and it may have a different bios chip so the ecs bios will not flash correctly to the HP board and now your bricked..

I'd say no on that if you remove the new card and put things back the way it was when it worked fine it should still do so
