Question PC won't start BIOS or Windows, and when shutting down from Windows, PC does not turn off ?

I have just upgraded my pc by installing a new cpu, motherboard, ram, windows 11, m.2 ssd's.

When i am pressing the start button, the pc starts and runs like normal, all the rgb starts lightning up and the fans are running, but the monitor has no signal, the keyboard and mouse are shut off and no lights fron those either!

I forced it to shut down by pressing the power button, then i tried again this time spamming the DELETE key button, and then the keyboard, mouse began to light up and i got the asus logo on the screen

I have them fixed and installed the new windows 11 and that is ok, fixed some stuff in bios as well before that, updated many drivers etc

But when in Windows, when I choose "Restart" or "Shut down", this happens; mouse, keyboard shuts down, monitor shuts down and has no signal anymore but the PC is still running. Right after windows shuts down i can hear the fans suddenly boost up in rom for like 1 secound, then it just stays on, like normal and i have to force it to stop.

When i then try and start up again, nothing at all happens unless i let the pc rest for 5-10 minutes

Do anyone know what i can do? I am kinda desperate, i have no one to help me and my knowledge regarding issues like this is limited.

I have seen many issues simlar to this, both here and elsewhere, but there are no answer to those!

bios update might fix this as if you have newest drivers, it could be a communication problem between them and old bios.

try updating chipset drivers at same time - https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am5/x670e

There is also one thing that might be related

Now and then i have managed to enter windows, and downloaded apps, programs and steam for example. Cpu temperature has blown up to around 80 degrees celsius, max 89c once the usually been at 50-60+ degrees for a while

I decided to try to play a game, wich i did and i had amazing performance, from the usual 100 fps wich was usual with the old pc setup, i now got way over 300 fps!

But then after 15 minutes of playing it went downhill, fos dropped down to 0 and things "crashed" screen went black, rgb on mouse and keyboard went on then off before everything was fine again, exept heavy lagging and fps down to 20 fos before it was up in the 200-300 range again, the unstable fos continued every now and then afterwards

Might change after the bios update then :)

Thank you very much! You are a lifesaver

I have now updated Bios, Chipset drivers, monitor filmware and now everything are functioning as it should!

Only thing left is to see what can be done about the performance

Even the cpu temperatures went from 80c to 40-50c idle!!

:)

since i upgraded my pc, i have experienced a lot of problems. tough a lot of them has been solved there are a lot left

1. PC doesn't turn off when restarting via windows, windows itelf shuts down, monitor, mouse and keyboard shut's off, but not the pc, the pc keeps running fans and light still on then the windows starts again

2. "screen of death" i was casually sitting listening to music and working on something, then suddenly the pc started lagging heavely and the music was lagging/stuttering too. then the screen went blue with the message windows had to repair something, and it did it for me. did not last more than max 5 secounds. then windows started again. i ran a antivirus scan after this and it found some file or something named win32 etc, couldnt get the whole name, but i let it clear it. it has now gone close to 2 days and everything is running, havent happened again yet.

in a game i had an usual 90-110 fps (more or less) with the RTX 3080. after i upgraded it gives far above up to 300 even 500. same gpu
upgrading the CPU could have given you the boost, as CPU can hold back GPU. I gained a little by upgrading from a 3600xt to 5800x3d. RAM would have helped as well.

Can you follow option one on the following link - here - and then do this step below: Small memory dumps - Have Windows Create a Small Memory Dump (Minidump) on BSOD - that creates a file in c windows/minidump after the next BSOD

  1. Open Windows File Explore
  2. Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump
  3. Copy the mini-dump files out onto your Desktop
  4. Do not use Winzip, use the built in facility in Windows
  5. Select those files on your Desktop, right click them and choose 'Send to' - Compressed (zipped) folder
  6. Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.)
  7. Then post a link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you . . .

that will record any info if it happens again.
