ok i have my old ram 2gb(1333mhz) ram it is working fine on my pc and i also have a (new) samsung 4gb(1600mhz) ram. So the issue is that when i insert the new ram(in slot 2) with my old ram inserted in slot 1 bios and windows does not detected the new ram but cpuz can detect both of the ram. so i tried to start my pc with only new ram inserted in slot 1(left the slot 2 empty) but the pc was not starting literally nothing was showing up on the monitor like no logo and not even a single beep.i also tried to swap the ram (old ram to slot 2 and new to slot 1) still the same issue was occured as i mentioned before old cpuz can detect 6gb ram.And i also i tried to start my pc with only new ram inserted in slot 2 i left slot 1 empty still as i mentioned the pc didnt start nothing was showing up on the monitor.
and also when i insert the old ram in slot 2 the pc is working same as before
from this i am sure that my pc slot are fine.

Solution
My apologies, I meant to tell you to buy an duplicate of the 2GB stick you already own.

Do not just throw it away as you could sell it to someone.
The only thing that makes sense here, based on your description of the problem, is that your motherboard does not support that specific RAM model. Motherboards are built and configured to work with a wide array of RAM modules but they cannot run every single one out there. While it is still detected it cannot be utilized.

My advice would be to buy an exact duplicate of the 4GB stick you already own.

thanks for replying but i dont own any 4gb stick which work on my pc? SO should i throw it in garbage?
