PC won't start with second memory ram stick. Please help!

Hello guys.

I have a problem, I got a new motherboard and my pc won't start when i install the second ram stick, now normally i install the two ram sticks in the 2nd and 4th slots, but this time is not working when i install the second one, and i also realize that when i install the second one in the third slots it works or the 1st and 2nd. Any help to fix this would be really appreciated.

Motherboard: MSI Z97 M gaming
Ram: x2 corsair vengeance 1866
Processor: i7 4790k

check your bios on the mb make sure it updated to have the newest bios file so the newest cpu and ram code on it. if the bios is fine have you tested all the ram slots. if there all working with one dimm and only one slot is the issue could be a seating or bent pin under the cpu.

if you can get the system to boot with 1 stick. down clock the ram to 1333 reboot and let the dma update. turn off.
install the new stick and see if it boots.

Thank you for the respond, Actually all the slots works, it doesn't work when i install in 1st with 3rd or 2nd with 4th.
If i install 1st with 2nd, or 2nd with 3rd, or 3rd with 4th it doesn't work, It's like it refuse to work in dual channel
I update the bios to 1.6 that is the last one that i found in the msi web for this motherboard.

I did what you said, and nothing happens, the same problem. 🙁

the memory controller is built into the cpu. check under the cpu for bent pins or a seating issue.
