Please help, today i got new memory from a friend (elixir m2f2g64cb88g7n-cg), and my pc won't start with it, i think it has something to do with it being 1333mhz and my pc only goes with 1600 but i'm not really sure, do i need to change something in the bios? i read updating your bios will help, but it's too big of a risk. Hoping for any help :)

the new ones are two 2x2gb, currently i have 1gb crusial memory

ok, but i'm still pretty scared of updating the bios, because many seem to have problems after it but i guess ill have to go for it

Hello, try to remove the old RAM, just insert one RAM, then try to restart your PC. You can also try to clean your RAM with rubber eraser and compressed air your RAM slot. Have a look with this http://www.techchore.com/2013/12/5-signs-of-ram-problems.html. Somehow, it may give you ideas.

Please take note that, running two RAMs' with different speed is not advisable. It may run today, but at some given time one of the RAM will get burn.

ok so i changed some settings in the bios, now only the one stick works, when i put both of them it wont start up mby u guys need a screen from cpu-z?

ok, so it seems like the other memory stick is dead or something because when i put back my 1gb memory it the second slot the pc starts up, so i just think ill go with 3gb ram :)
