Pc won't turn on after boot, can only turn on if I flick the power switch

Specs: Asus b350-f strix
asus 1070 ti turbo
Ryzen 5 1600

I'm having this weird issue where if I go to sleep mode, my pc will turn off and cannot be turn on with keyboard clicks or the power button. I can only turn it on by flicking the power supply power off and on. After I turn it on, there is a red light flash on my motherboard. Also, when it is going to sleep mode, my fans will suddently go on for like a second and off. Maybe that has something to do with my problem?

Go to the POWER Options and select your power plan. Then set the sleep mode time to never.

Okay got it, other than that, is there anything else I want to watch out for? I'm scared that my problem will damage my pc while it is operating and will shorten its life span

No it should not damage the system. There is also an option to shut off the monitor in that same power plan. If it gives you a problem, then set it to never as well.


The only problem is that it is a pain to turn the monitor off and on. The same goes for the PC. It is a waste off power to leave it on. Sleep mode is a way around that.

But like many I myself end up leaving it on. I use it a lot trough out the day.
