pc wont turn on after build

i just put together a pc since the old motherboard fried i had to get a new one, i put it all together and pluged it in and when i hit the power switch a light beside the power switch turned on for less than a quarter second, the motherboard light is on as well.

Check all your power connections especially the two to the mobo - the large 24 pin and the smaller 4/8 pin near the CPU, make sure both are snug

Make sure your motherboard power is seated fully and you have the CPU 8 pin plugged in.

no fix. their plugged in all the way, i get power for a split second still and it shuts off, one of my leds turns on for a split second to

Check your CPU cooler seating. If it isn't fully seated you could just be overheating incredibly quickly. It's happened to me before and it's really hard to spot when you're not looking for it.

i put my hyper 212 evo on it but im missing a bolt at the bottem left so thats not bolted down on that part, no way it could over heat in under half a second ?

Air is a horrible transfer medium. If you have a stock cooler I would drop that on, but I would put my money on it being an overheating issue.

thanks ill drop the stock cooler in there. just gotta try not to break anything in the procces -_-

yes it is. im gonna have to pick up a few bolts to hold in the cooler unless i can find them. and will do
