Hi! I just got a new (actually used) motherboard and cpu (1150). So after 3 hours of sweat the new mobo was in the case (first time). When I pushed the power button, nothing happened. No fans turning on, no lights on the mobo showing. Before I took out old mobo I counted the wires attached and got 7 + sata cables. I also used mobo manual. Right now there are exactly 7 wires attached (that 8-pin bundle counted as one wire (jfp1). Is there a possibility that I misplaced the wires? Or maybe I created static electricity and fried my mobo? PSU can't be the case because it worked just fine before the mobo swap. Mobo is H81M-P33, cpu i5 4440, psu fortron fsp hexa 500 w.

Solution
Sorry. The above should have read, "motherboard's front panel connections". Check to make sure the pin alignment in the bundle matches the pin alignment on your new motherboard.

I used my mobo manual for connecting the wires. So I am quite certain that they are correctly aligned. I will look it over later today just to make sure.

Edit: I just checked the manual and noticed that reset switch needs different alignment than other wires. I probably didnt notice it yesterday. Could it be the case?
