Hey guys,

My basic PC Specs:

CPU: i5 3570K OC'ed to 4.2Ghz
GPU: Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 SOC
RAM: 2x4GB
PSU: Seasonic S12ii 620W (non-modular)
MOBO: Asrock z77 Extreme 4

When i switched ON my PSU, nothing happens. No lights, no displays on the monitor and the case fans were OFF too. PSU or motherboard issue? So, i sent my PC to the PC specialist store and strangely enough it went back ON again. The technician said everything seems normal.

When i got back home(on the same day), i was able to play Forza Horizon 3 (ultra settings) and tested it for several hours at night. It was running well under heavy load and the CPU temperatures on average was about 52C/125 F. After shutdown, on the next day, it won't turn ON again.

I'm pretty sure the power outlet/plug/extension is NOT the issue here as i've tested with other devices powered through the same socket. I sent my PC to the service shop and it went back ON again as if everything is normal. What gives?

Could it be an overheating issue? I left my PC in a relatively warm area (around 31C from where i live). When i placed it in my car and drove off to the store (takes 1 hour), i think it did manage to cool down due to air conditioning. So by the time it got there plus the air conditioning in the pc shop, my PC switched ON without any issue.

Would like to hear your opinion on this. Thanks.

Is the wall outlet controlled by a light switch? Are you using a surge protector/UPS that has a power port controlled by another port?
Some of these 'green' protectors only send power to other outlets if there is a power draw on the 'control' port. This does help with vampire voltage. If it's not that I would get an extension cord and new surge protector and test it by plugging it in across the room to take the outlet and surge protector out of the equation.

Sorry i don't understand what you mean. You're saying my power point/extension is faulty? All of my extension cords have surge protectors and in every socket there is a light switch. I played games on my PC for 5 years powered through the same outlet without any issues until now.
