My power always goes out, however, this morning the power did go off. (the pc was also off but the switch on the psu was on and was connected to the wall) i've done this for 6 months now.

I'm not sure if the power outage was the issue...

How can I know which parts are failing?

No fans spin/no lights on/no leds on the mobo

Solution
Sounds like a dead mobo, I would suggest jumping the pins on the psu with a paperclip to ground to see if the fan comes on.

despite popular belief, if your computer is plugged into the wall, psu off or on, it still has a standby 5v rail always on. As an Electrician, I would 100% call an electrician out to your house to have them take a look at the ground, frequent power outages are a sign of an improper ground resistance, Check the grounds on the side of the house aswell.
