The light on my graphics card and a few other lights on the motherboard are on so I know they are recieving power. But when I push the power button nothing happens. No fans spin. None of the lights come on. It has does this a few times to me now and usually after a couple days it will just work all of the sudden but will boot to the bios then i have to unplug and plug the storage devices back in.
However I don't feel like waiting a few days and want to fix this problem as to avoid it from happening anymore.

Specs:
I7-7700k
Geforce GTX 1080
240gb teamgroup ssd
2tb hdd
16gb teamgroup ram
600w hec-600tc-5wk
Z270 pro4 motherboard

Ps. I'm kind of new to pc so I don't know what all specs or info you need. Let me know if I left anything out.

If you replaced or removed the cmos battery, the default display mot likely has moved back to the one built into the CPU. Connect to the video ports on the motherbd, enter the bios, and set the graphics card to initialize first back to PCIE or PEG.

Also, I'm moving this thread to SYSTEMS, since it's not really an issue with your storage drives.
Seems like your Power Supply is not getting enough power to boot up your PC..
or the PSU is either damaged or kinda weak for your system.

Things to try:

  • Try plugging your cable directly to the wall and see if it works.
  • Unplug the PSU cable and leave it for about 10-15 minutes and plug it back again.
  • Switch the PSU cable with a better one (maybe thicker)
  • Unplug the PC bios battery and leave it for at least 3 minutes and plug it back again.
  • Try switching the entire PSU if all else fails.

What if replacing it doesn't fix it

If the PSU wasn't the problem (which apparently is)
i think you have to try other things like:

  • Switching the Video Card with another one (maybe old one you have)
  • Try plugging out one of the RAM sticks and boot up your PC if this didn't help continue plugging out another one.
  • Check if the CPU is overheating (try to switch it with another one if you could)

If nothing helped then i'm afraid that it could be the motherboard which is more likely not for your case cause you mentioned you were able to start yourPC after a couple of days..
So..let's hope that the PSU is the one who's causing this issue.

Best of luck!

I replaced the CPU with a cx 750m. Unfortunately it still didn't start. Still the same stuff

I got it to power on but now I have no display. What could cause this?
