Hi, my pc stopped working after an electrical storm a week ago, got a new PSU today - still doesnt turn on.

When i say it wont turn on, i mean that NOTHING at ALL happens when i press the start-up button, no fans, no sound, nada nothing at all.

Thought it was the PSU and replaced it, but still nothing happens.

Ideas?

Do you have any other PC to test your hardware? Looks like your MoBo died during the storm. I'm afraid to say, but there's probably a chance everything else died with it. But again, try to test your hardware with another mobo.

Unless of course,that "electrical storm" generated an EMP(which only happens in movies,TV serials and games) it is highly unlikely that it affected your PC.
Though unable to identify the cause i am suggesting a few chores:-
If there is no display then your CPU got struck.
If PC won't start after pushing the power button,RAM is!Check it clear the dust or moisture by removing it and then blowing it with mild air,a blower perhaps,DONOT PLACE IT IN SUNLIGHT.

RAM can't be the issue here. There's no beeping light, nothing working. So basically the MoBo is dead.

Well Androssi, you said that NOTHING happens at all, nothing working, so i'm assuming that NOTHING is working... Can you explain what happens when you try to power up the PC? Does the light flash, beep, anything?

How can you turn on a PC without RAM and CPU?
Wait your monitor is working or not?

@Fjaesbog

Nothing happens indeed - When i try to power it up, pressing the button to start it, NOTHING HAPPENS.
And when i turn on the PSU a blue light light up on the MoBo, my USB headset gets power, and a nother "thing" on the MoBo lighs up and pulsates.

@Vdtiwari

My monitor is fine, and i left 1 stick of ram ofc, but even if the GPU isnt connected, the pc should start up.

Hello... Get yourself a good Surge protector too!!! Don't plug your computer Directly into the WALL, get a buffer between them, if your area/power company has a history of lightning strikes...
But, THE first part of trouble shooting your PC should be to check that your NEW POWER SUPPLY is set to the right voltage and if it has a Switch on it, that it is turned on...
I have seen many of Power switches on Cases go BAD, and are easy to FIX.
SO, Look for where your power button is plugged into your motherboard... and touch those pins with a TIP of a metal screw driver, what are your results?
My many years of experience have found that the Power Supplys and Audio cards did go bad from Voltage spikes, and have seen a case where The Motherboard BIO's had to be re-flashed...
Not everything is going to be broken, if a Power surge was actually at fault, then another computer is needed too test every part independantly.
