PC Won't Turn On!!!

Hi There,


I built a computer back in December and had loads of problems with various things but finally got it sorted at the end of march. So everything has been running fine now for at least a month and a half, but suddenly I've got a completely different problem!!! It has stopped working altogether!! I was playing Driver: San Fransisco and had paused the game to go and have dinner but when I got back the computer was off. My first thought that it had automatically shut down because I had just done an update and it's done that before, but when I went to turn it on all I got was a brief whirring noise as if the fans were about to start. Also one of the blue LED lights on the front of the case flashed once along with the LED on my external hard drive.

I have done a bit of research and found that the most likely cause is hard drive failure of PSU failure. I am not sure what to do now, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Intel Core i5 2500
ATI Radeon 6870
MSI P23 Motherboard (I think)
8GB of RAM
500W PSU (can't remember the brand but it's not a "value" one)
Coolermaster Elite 432 Case
1TB Seagate Barracuda
