Hi, so my pc turned off when I dropped a modem on it, it wasn't even that hard and it actually barely touched. The fans would turn on but then turn off, I tried switching power supply that still didn't work, the power supply I was using had a green light on it indicating that it was getting power and the motherboard also had a light that would turn on to show it was also getting power, but when I press the power button to power up the computer, the green light on the power supply would turn off but the green light on the motherboard won't, it's confusing cause it's saying it's off but it's still giving power to the motherboard??? What?? I tried press the power button again even when the green like was off on the power supply and it just wouldn't start, I plugged out the plug in the power supply and the power from the motherboard would go off, that's how I know the power supply was still giving power to the motherboard even if it was off WTF?!?! I really hope my pc is KFC (Kuntucky fried chicken) but the thing is WHY would it be fried if I dropped something on it? Besides water but there was no water on the modem and it BARELY touched it, you could hear the modem touch it a little bit.
This pc was given to me for free so I don't know its specs that much
It's good for gaming (in my opinion)
Asus motherboard
Nivida 8600 GT
Overclock
2 GB of ram (2 - 1 GB ram sticks)
I was so happy cause I was finally going to be able to play it, I got a nice LG monitor and it runs so fast. I don't know what happens ughhh.

Have you checked to see if something got knocked loose? Maybe the GPU or RAM popped loose from their slots? Some other component? Check everything, and reseat where appropriate. Also make sure there's nothing loose in your case. The bad news is that if something lost then regained electrical contact, it could have shorted out. That could also include things like the motherboard bouncing and solder points making contact along the case.

I have a feeling it's the power supply cause I'm noticing other annoying crow happening too, my pc sometimes restarts on it's on when I first start it up, I do the POST beep like 3 times I think it's the power supply...

it literally stays on when the PSU light is off, that's what's confusing

I'm starting to think maybe, the PSU is still supplying power to it but it's very little or limited? Idk I'm really not a computer genius.

Seriously, some LED's can stay lit for as long as 10 minutes once the power has been disconnected. There's some power available to it from capacitors and the like. And even if the LED does light up, it doesn't mean the motherboard is ok. A cars headlights might turn on but the engine can still be dead. You said you tried switching PSU's already.

Here's a page listing motherboard beep codes:

http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm

And you said you've checked every connection, you may not be able to tell if something has come loose just by looking at it.

I fixed it, it was a screw driver between the sliver stands under the motherboard, that probably got moved during the short bump of the modem I dropped which caused it to stop, thanks for all the suggestions
