Hi guys, in a heat of the moment eBay auction, I bought 1GB of DDR2 PC2-3200 RAM (400MHz), Kingston KTD-DM8400/1G to be specific.

I've searched to see if PC2-3200 is compatible with my GX520 (Intel 945G chipset, P4 800MHz FSB) with n luck, so please can someone tell me if this is compatible?

I should have checked I know, and PC2-6400 would be much better, but the money has been spent.

If I remember correctly, the GX520 supports PC2-3200/4200 DDR2 dimms (400 and 533Mhz respectively). So, you ought to be alright and if anything, spent your money wisely because putting 800Mhz DDR2 in would still have the memory revert to 533Mhz, unless a bios update provided support for faster memory?, I believe the 520 was limited to 4GB (2x2gb) off 400/533Mhz memory. Your best bet (IMO) is to install the RAM and power the PC up. If it boots, you're good to go and you can check the speed that the RAM is operating at either in the bios, or by using a program like CPU-Z (free download). If it screams at you (beeps, etc) then it doesn't work.
