PC2100 Performance

I know very little about memory and latency. My weakest area

Current Specs:
Asus A7V266-E
512mb PC2100
AMD XP1900+

BIOS SPD settings:
CAS Latency [DDR:2.5t:SDR:3]
RAS Precharge Time [3T]
RAS to CAS delay [3T]
Activate to Precharge Time [6T]

BIOS CPU settings are set to jumper free

Ran a memory benchmark using SandraPro Ver:1.10
Results:
MMX Bandwidth 797 MB/s
FPU 763 MB/s

Compared to VIA KT266a PC2100 CL2 DDR
ALU 800 MB/s
FPU 980 MB/s

Couple of questions:
1. Why MMX result and no ALU result?
2. Would a .5 difference between CL2.5 and 2
make that much of a difference?

Just trying to boost memory performance a litte or at least
make it comparable to equal machines.
Would appreciate any comments\suggestions.

You have to try to see the difference, just set it to 2 and check if it's stable.
You also could try lowering the RAS timings, if you have good RAM, again check if it's stable.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground  .

svol:Will give your suggestions a try. Won't be till next weekend..15 hour days. Also, any reason why my benchmark showed MMX instead of ALU???? Thanks
