I am upgrading my RAM (currently have one stick of 8GB; came that way refurbished) and the mobo I have supports up to 1866 (PC3 14400) I went to Newegg to find some and the option for this is non existent. The only 1866 options are PC3 14900 or PC3 15000. So my question is do they not make the 14400 anymore and what would the difference be between 14400 and 14900?
Here's the link to the PC http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03933829

Solution
14400 is just another designation for 1866, similar to 1333 which has 3 or designators also. What is your current stick of DRAM - get the free app CPU-Z and look in the SPD tab it should show a part number and if not will list the specs for the spd - let us know the timings it shows for 933/1866
