(All the ram is PC3L) I have 2 sticks of 2GB HKhynix ram (skh) and it says 12800s and I want to buy a stick of 8gb Kingston memorry but it sais 12800. Will it still work with the laptop and the other stick of ram?
 
Solution
A dual channel kit (2x4GB) will work better and is more compatible than mixing single RAM modules.

If you get one additional 8GB stick to your existing 2GB stick, only 4GB will run in dual channel mode, the rest will run a bit slower in single channel mode, depending on what you are working on

This single stick should run in your machine though with CL11 timings:
