Hi guys! I'm trying to build a gaming pc :) can you help me, I have gathered some parts online but I don't know if there is some parts that I threw in here >>>> http://pcpartpicker.com/p/y7hxQ7 that aren't necessary. I'm not gonna be really doing some overclocking maybe in the future tho. Can you guys please help me?

the 8gb vram really isn't too much of a help until you get to 1440p or 4k resolutions, and by the time you hit 4k, you probably will need a second one in crossfire to keep the game playable. Great card, but I don't really think 8gb is too necessary for normal resolutions like 1080p. The extra vram gives it a lot of head room, but in my opinion, really isn't needed as I stated before.

4gb of vram is more than enough for most games out there with a few exceptions where you might have high quality texture mods or your anti aliasing cranked up, but with optimal settings, I rarely see a game get even close to 3.5 at 1080p.

For ~$900 you can get an intel processor which will perform better for gaming. I put in an i5 and a good ASRock motherboard to replace your 8350.

The video card you chose is too expensive for its performance and it will only be about 5% faster than a similar 290X from a different manufacturer that costs ~$100 less so I changed it out for one from Sapphire which is also a very good performer.

The power supply you chose is a low quality unit so I switched it out for a very high quality unit from EVGA, semi modular, 80+ bronze, and 750W.

Anyways, hope my input was useful, I'll post the link:

The Gene is a very expensive motherboard that does not have the features to justify its price. It is a good motherboard, but not worth what you would pay for it. It has less features than the Extreme4 or Z97-A and is a micro-atx board as well.
