Pci 2.0 graphics?

I currently have 2x geforce gts 450 SLI'd. I want to upgrade, but i'm pretty sure I only have a pci 2.0 slot. I want to get a gtx 960 but im not sure if it will run. I have quad core i5 3.3ghz processor and a 750w psu. Will it even run in my cpu?

A pci-e 3.0 card will work in a 2.0 slot.

I've got a i7 920 2.66 ghz, pretty ancient build with pcie 2.0. Ran my gtx1060 no problem. Max out quality in witcher 3 and fallout 4 no problem at 1080p.

I got a GTX 1070 on PCIE 2.0. Benchmarks show the same FPS for 1440P. 16x PCIE 2.0 bandwidth isn't fully utilized yet. At least below 4k. You might run into a problem at 8x for 1440P.
