PCI and USB sound card difference?

I'm soon going to buy a new sound card. However, I'm not sure if it should be USB or PCI.

Are there any advantages or disadvantages using PCI or USB? I'll be using it for gaming mostly.

Thank you for the answer. The video gave a bit of useful information.

I also forgot to mention that the reason for me to buy a sound card is because I have "unfixable" issues with my onboard audio on my ASUS VII Ranger. A lot of people have this audio popping issue with this board, and ASUS doesn't give a s*** about its customers when it comes to fixing their products.
I see that there are some disadvantages from using PCI/PCIe sound cards. Still not sure if it's USB or PCIe that will be the solution for me though. :/
