PCI Cable and Connector Help

I currently am using an EVGA GTX 980 SC and it has been crashing quite frequently. I recently just noticed something about how I connected the power connectors to the card and I am not sure if I should change it or not. I currently have 1 PCI cable using 2 of the 6 pin connectors on it and I am wondering if I should change it to 2 PCI cables and use 1 connector on each cable. Should I change or keep my current connections?

What your psu?
What driver version you using? Where are you crashing? In games or idle?

My PSU is a CX750M and I am just installing the GeForce 364.51 Driver.

Use an older driver. There are still claims that the 364.51 Driver stills have issues.
The 362 driver is one option.
