PCI-E 1.0 Graphics Card in a 2.0 mobo?

I was just wanting to know if i could use a pci-e 1.0 video card in a 2.0 mobo. Seen a lot of things about 2.0 video cards to 1.0 mobo but I dont know.

Well i put a radeon x800gto in an i5 2500K build and it works... does that answer your question?
