PCI-E 1x8-pin to 2x8-pin adaptor

I'm planning on buying a GTX 1070, but the model I'm interested in (specifically EVGA GTX 1070 FTW ACX 3.0) needs 2x8-pin connectors. My PSU (OCZ ZS 550W) only has 1x8-pin connector, so I've been thinking about buying an adaptor for it. Is it safe or is it not recommended? If it's not recommended, then I will simply look into a GTX 1070, which needs only 1x8-pin connector, though that would be a shame, the EVGA one looks awesome as hell

Won't work you need a new PSU. Can't use an adapter.

it is not recommended to use adapters, cables may burn if u put too much load on it
either get gpu with 1x 8pin+1x 6pin (which your psu supports) or get new psu with 2x8pin
