So my system i built in 2017 with a 1080ti, and i got a riser cable for it back then too, i dont remember which one though thats the thing, but back then there was no PCI-E 4.0 i dont think ? So i just upgraded my 1080ti to a 6900xt i got on ebay for $600 with a waterblock, decided to go into the bios "i have a x570 gigabyte auros board btw" and i turn the PCI-E lane to 4.0 just to see if it would work. I had it on 3.0 based on reviews i read ages ago. Anyway, it works fine on PCI-E 4.0 ? I have even started overclocking this 6900xt, and I have gotten it to 2650mhz on the core, and 2150 on the memory with tight timmings.. core is at 46c and the hot spot is 57c... Its pulling almost 300w roughly 290w or so when i run unigen for an hour or two. I tried to go to 2700mhz core but i get artifacts, even with the voltage maxed out. I put the power limit to 15% and the voltage mv to 1100.. but it still says its running at 1175 for some reason.. anyway..
btw how to make AMD's software to keep my overclock? i saved the profile, but everytime i reboot it just goes back to default.
So i thought PCIE 3.0 risers couldnt do PCI-E 4.0.. everywhere i read it says no.. but it seems to be working fine for me ?
