[SOLVED] PCI-E Riser Cable Issue

Will covering this with an electrical tape work? Since only the outer part is damage, internal seems fine. If I remember correctly PCI-E only use 75W of power so I am thinking that an electrical tape can handle it. This was punctured by the pin headers from the motherboard.

I thought it was just a bad gen 4 riser cable at first since it was working fine for the first 2 weeks then I started experiencing high gpu usage even on idle on DWM (Desktop Windows Manager), CSRP (Client Server Runtime Process), and System after long idle or sleep mode. I can't even watch videos because of this high gpu usage, videos will keep on lagging. Then bluescreens happened lately that's why I decided to remove the riser and saw the problem.

BTW, this is the Universal Vertical Graphics Card Holder Kit V2 (PCIE4.0) from Cooler Master.

I'm not sure what it is called. But I'm pretty sure it is not a wire.
Checked the internet for what it's called. Probably it's aluminum, based from this image (Source).

Oh - it was exposed EMI shielding.
It should be fine after you have covered it with electrical tape.
