PCI-E with regular PSU

Hi everyone,

I am upgarding my system to a pci-e one.
here is the setup:

coolermaster wavemaster case
asus a8n-sli premium
a64 4000+
corsair 3200xl 1024 2-2-2-5
wd 160gb harddrive
bfg 7800gtx 256
audigy zs2 platinum pro

I have an antec true power 1 psu. it has no native pci-x connectors. how do I hook it up ? do I need any special adaptors? if so what kind and where can I get some?

Your video card should come with one included but if it does not you can get this adapter (assuming I'm thinking of the correct part you are looking for lol).

What wattage? The 7800GTX will pull its power from the PCIe bus - no extra power cables to attach to it.

Just checked out the card at the BFG website and it says this under "Included in the box":

Dual 4-pin to single 6-pin power cable.

so I don't have to connect the card to the power supply? is the adapter just for an SLI setup?

According to BFG, you should hook up the power to the card. The manual that comes with the card explains how to do that properly. You can also download the manual from thier website.
