i was planning on adding a r9 270x to my computer my processer is the AMD A8 6600K but after taking a closer look at my card slots i noticed i only have a PCI E1 slot is there any alternative i can use and will the card even work if i was to use it

Solution
OK, the blue slot connector is X16. I think your mistake was looking at the specs page below:

A55-E35 Specs

You missed where it says PCI-Ex16 = 1 and only seen the PCI-Ex1 two lines down. So you'll have no issues running a 270X in your system.

just a quick update i re-read my motherboard and mistaken the E33 for E35 so my model is actually FM2 A55M E33 the font is kinda funny on my eyes I checked out some diagrams so now im confident in my plan and will soon add a new PSU then move onto my GPU then SSD then CPU fan and lastly just changing my speakers to some harmon kardon sound sticks

finally removed the nasty chinese psu and just put in my Evga 600w psu and plopped in an old 1tb 72000rpm hdd next thing is the GPU, decided on the gtx 750 ti SC as i wont be gaming too much but when i do will get a good amount of FPS

Sounds good, I have a EVGA PSU myself. It's been good for the first year I've had it. I came from an excellent PC&C PSU that lasted me like 6 years. In fact it's still going in my son's computer. Buy nice or buy twice as the saying goes.

As for GPU's, you might want to consider a 950 or 960. Not sure what the price difference is, but they are near "fully" DX12 compatible.

my budget isn't really big on the GPU and I wont be doing any heavy gaming plus I wont be changing my a8 6600k so I decided to get a gtx 750 ti sc I don't really have much time on my hands when I get home from college as im stuck in coursework so when I do game its probably going to be normal/high/custom settings and im not too bothered about 1080p gameplay either I just want some decent graphics and a good FPS performance the gpu will take me 9 weeks to save up for so ill have the opportunity to look at other GPUs while I save up I want to avid bottle necks right now the gtx 750 ti sc is nicely priced

Gotcha, just thought I'd throw that out there. Where I buy from the price difference is about $30-$40 difference. I was also thinking that you could make use of the DX12 features down the road. The 750's are good GPU's and are excellent when it comes to power usage.

the most demanding game I'm probably going to play is Metal Gear Solid V and that will be on custom settings others games will be shooters that my APU can handle at a decent FPS including Borderlands 2 and call of duty maybe battlefield getting the GPU is a performance and image quality jump metal gear solid 5 is the one ill most play and so im going to use custom setting and tune it so i can average at about 50-60
