What are the differences? Most of the newer video cards require a PCI Express 2.1 x16 slot but all of the motherboards on Newegg are only showing them coming with PCI Express 2.0 x16.. I thought before they had both of them, but now they don't. Am I missing out on something or why does Newegg not have any motherboards with PCI Express 2.1 x16 slots?

I wanted to buy a Radeon HD 6000 series but most of them require a PCI Express 2.1 x16 slot, but none of the motherboards have them on Newegg.

That's what I was thinking, but I still don't understand why Newegg removed that PCI Express 2.1 x16 option when looking at motherboards... it completely threw me off guard.

Thanks for the help!

"PCI Express 2.1 supports a large proportion of the management, support, and troubleshooting systems planned to be fully implemented in PCI Express 3.0. However, the speed is the same as PCI Express 2.0. Most motherboards sold currently come with PCI Express 2.1 connectors."

Or so wikipedia says.
