PCI Express backwards (or forewards in this case) compatibility

Hello,

Would there be any issues or disadvantages of plugging in a 3.0x16 graphics card into a 2.0x16 slot on a motherboard? I know that it will physically fit, but any performance issues?

There won't be any compatibility issues and the performance issues are minuscule (the difference between, for example, 65FPS and say 64.3FPS is simply not noticeable by even the most sensitive of humans AFAIK). There should not be anything to worry about.
