I want to upgrade my current pc to run Microsoft FSX a little better. I currently have a Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI motherboard and a Radeon X700 graphics card.
I am looking to upgrade to at least 512mb graphics card but am getting confused by the new connection options on the boards. I think I am right in saying that my MB will support up to two PCIE x 16 graphics cards. But most of the 512mb cards I come across are PCIE 2.0. Are they backwards compatible? If so is it wise to fit a v2 to a v1 board?
Can anyone suggest a good 512mb card that will work with my MB? Ideally I want to spend less than £60 as I am planning for a new system later in the year.
Thanks for your help.
Luke.
