Has any of you got hold of these new mobos and checked them out yet?
I've seen a couple of these from MSI but I don't know which other maker
is out with them on the US market.

I've seen Gigabyte PCI-Express mobos and they're GREAT,though I won't be
getting one 'cause I've got a pretty good comp for now.

Well, I am way overdue with a new PC but when I heard about the PCI-X
bus coming out soon, I decided to postpone till I can build a new system
with those new mobos. I don't want to be the first kid on the block
though because I am a bit uneasy about the first generation of anything.
I'm also not sure what peripherals are out there that work with the new
bus even though a lot of functionality that used to be on peripheral
cards is now integrated in these new mobos.

PCI-X and PCI-E(Express) are not the same thing .PCI-X can be found on
almost all server boards on the new Mac but not on desktop boards.

For the peripherals:1.You've got the new Matrix RAID
2.On some boards you can find Wireless cards
And every brand has its own peripherals(Gigabyte has new cooling solutions).
And you should also consider that there's no Socket 478 on these new
boards.There's only LGA 775.
Optionaly you can take DDR2 533(or 633 on some boards) cause new mobos
support it.

Oops! I was not aware of it. I just used "PCI-X" as a shorthand for
PCI eXpress.
Thanks for the correction,
