PCI Express Network Card Question

I am looking into buying a PCI wireless network card as my USB ports are unreliable and my USB adapter is pretty much failing. Problem is, the slot next to my graphics card is a bit close to the fans. What I want to know is will having the card there affect the temperature in any drastic ways?

if you go on eBay you can buy an affordable PCIe slot riser, which will let you mount the card anywhere you'd like and leave space around your graphics card for airflow.
