Hi Friends,

below are my specs

core i3 2120 3.3 ghz processor
intel dh61ww mother board
8gb ddr3 ram 1333mhz
corsair vs 450 PSU
Zotac gtx 1050ti 4 gb mini graphics card

I am planning to upgrade my CPU because of my current cpu causing a bottleneck on my GPU.
But i also wanted to check if i need to upgrade my motherboard as well as it supports pci express 2.0 whereas my graphics card supports 3.0. Will there be any performance dip in my graphics card because of this. I read somewhere that there would be a 50% reduction in my graphics card performance. Is this true?

Not sure about it being 50% But you're definatly correct. It will throttle the card especially if the bandwidth is high. Think of it like comparing USB 2.0 to USB 3.0.

USB 3.0 has a better bandwidth capability. It's the same with PCI-E
