Ok..so when he upgrades his mobo, he wont beable to re-install windows because his dell oem version ties to that specific mobo. so now toss in another 100$ for windows, and it becomes less atractive.

Didn't happen with my Dell, but then again that's laptop.

However if he got the windows cd and not a 'recovery disk' then no it's not tied to the motherboard, but you can also slipstream the recovery disk version and use the windows code, and voila, again it works.

Just a question of how adept you are, so for those who aren't very good with computers, then get a PCI card for everyone else a PCI card sux.

and the 9250se is just horrible, i doubt it will even play games on miniclip 8)

The FX is equally horrible, and you should look at benchmarks, the PCI slot is the limiter, they won't perform that differently. So saying the 9250 sux means the FX5200/5500 sux, which we all already knew because PCI just plain SUX for gaming.

Like has been mentioned, upgrade the board, and the latest integrated chips like the X200 or GF6150 will likely perform better than those overpriced crappy PCI cards.

At least the GF6200 PCI offers you additional features for your slide-show performance.

trust me, u dont no what u are talking about. the 9250 is a dx8 card, most new miniclip games are dx9(i think). plus, i saw the benchmarks, in most cases none of the cards are good ( im not saying they are) im just saying the 5500 is much better han the 9250. can u play halo at high settings 1024x768 with a 9250. didn think so.

Im actually now thinking about getting a really cheap gpu which will hold me over untill i can aford the base components for a new pc and then i can switch the pci card into that instead of having to wait again for another €500 for a very highend pci-e card.whcih will mean i can have my system up and running sooner.

(Also my moniter at the moment is really old/small so it cant handle high resolutions anyway.

Trust me I know what I'm talking about far better than you do n00b!

BTW, nice double post DumbA$$!

the 9250 is a dx8 card,

See, that would be DX8.1

most new miniclip games are dx9(i think).

You think? You're so far off base it's ridiculous. Miniclip I've played on the Intel Extreme2 at work, thus making it DX7!

plus, i saw the benchmarks,

Then post them. I've not only seen but posted the benchmarks here before (Cleeve likes to post them too), now let's see yours.

in most cases none of the cards are good ( im not saying they are) im just saying the 5500 is much better han the 9250.

'much better', I'd love to see how these PCI restricted cards show 'much better'. There are differences from time to time, but much better they are not, and like I said the integrated solutions will be better/faster and likely even cheaper.

can u play halo at high settings 1024x768 with a 9250. didn think so.

You show me that benchmark of your showing the major advantage. As for Halo, who plays halo anymore anyways? Try playing FartCry, HL2 , BF2 on that card, then compare to the integrated solutions, and you'll see it's a waste of money. Right now, anything the FX5500 can play the R9250 can play also.

Now bring forth those benchies, because right now I doubt you even know the difference between interfaces.

Seriously save your money PCI cripples any otherwise good card to the point where the current integrated setups will actually outperform. PCI should only be thought of for 2D and dual/multi monitor applications.
