Hey there. I'm trying to determine if it's possible to take a PCI sound card(s) and use it with a laptop that has a mini PCIe port (for wifi cards). I've read a few slightly similar threads that seem to point toward "No", but they're all about video cards.

I would like to use this http://linitx.com/product/13202 and would be putting in two sound cards for music recording.

Were I to have a laptop with a mini PCIe, would this not work? Also, would I have to connect the above product to a power source? If so, what would I need? Please don't say "Just get a USB sound card"; I understand that this seems like a wacky setup.

Thank you!

I have the same question, except for a pcie -> mini pcie.

have you tried it out yet? i'm really curious if that is gonna work (i'm going to add a DAC pcie card to an opened-up laptop, basically just mainboard and everything else is stripped out, physically and or bios wise, but i need this soundcard for it to work.
