I have an Asus P4S800 motherboard and I too am missing PCI Simple Communications Controller for an unknown device. I noticed a 10 listed as the device in the device manager and at start up. The device listed is my DVD/CDR-RW.
The simple communication device is a dial-up MODEM which runs a telephone plug connection on the motherboard. If you really need to use it, the driver is easy to find but is it worth bothering with if you don't want it?

When you find the list of the Vendor's drivers, they aren't in order so use your browser's Find facility to track the Device details. With luck you'll have an executable file but some will be a zipped folder. You'll be dealing with the manufacturers' own website which is the best and safest place to find the drivers you need.
