PCI slot cooler and graphics card

if my grahpics card already has a fan, can i install a pci slot cooler anways? or do i have to take the original fan off first?

you usually have to take the GPU fan off

is the card too hot? what are the temps?

im guessing the card is overheating. at idle gpu is about 40 C. Whenever i play starcraft 2, game freezes. (already set the frameratecap and glue). Also used rivaturner to increase fan speed but that didnt help either.

i haave a ati radeaon 4600 hd series.

would getting a pci slot cooller be a good idea?

what about RAM? is that stable?

i have crappy ddr2 rams 2 gigs.

however, i read that starcraft 2 had problems with overheating the gpu. so i thought i would add a pci cooler right underneath. But i wasnt sure if i had to take the original video card fan out.

is it more effective if i keep the original video card fan and add a pci slot cooler right underneath?


edit: btw its a 4670 hd radeon.

well you are actually better off adding a better fan onto the GPU

cuz adding a second fan will just disorient hot air coming out of the fan, so just get a more powerful GPU fan
