hi, so for this issue there is a little bit of back ground needed, I recently built a pc for myself and it went nearly flawlessly... nearly, so everything worked on it, accept for my audio, it just wasn't there, went into device manager, wasn't there, it was enabled in bios, tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and it couldn't install because it couldn't find the device I needed drivers for, so I figured audio chipset on my board was fried, not a huge deal I just went and got a ASUS Xonar DG, it finally came in today, plugged it in and nothing.... same issue, it wasn't in the device manager, the drivers wouldn't install cause it couldn't find the device, and I couldn't see it anywhere in my bios where I had the pci slots disabled if that's even possible, I have a second pc I tested it on and it worked flawlessly, does anybody have any clue what the issue is or how to fix it?

here are my specs
mobo: MSI P67A-GD65-B3
cpu: intel core i5 3570k
gpu: powercolor radeon r9 280
psu: coolermaster m2 silent pro 1000 watt semi modular
case: fractal design arc xl
ram: 8gb 1600 MHz crucial ballistix sport, 8gb 1600 MHz corsair xms3
hdd: western digital caviar blue 1tb

if anyone has any idea what could be causing this issue please help !
thank you for your time!

do you got another gpu to try ? borrow one from a friend to put in to see if it does the same thing ? it still could come down to the board just failed my old favorite 590sli gigabyte board did out of the blue then found out back then they were having capacitor issues and were known to fail prematurely . looked it all over good and found 2 swollen/ leaking caps on it. time to move on to a new board / build after that

looks like a few had issue with that card and that board ??

I was helping a guy on this like 2 /3 weeks ago and I guess he did not resolve as well .. all was good up in till he installed his new card ??

all I can think of was uninstall driver and remove the card, clear cmso [remember /write down your bios settings of anything you need set over default .. ]

install the card in safe mode and see if audio works if so reboot normal re install drives in custom install and only install the driver and ccc nothing else ... re try ?

I never had this issue here yet on anything [knock on wood]

now maybe if this is your board do you have the latest bios update ?? [bios 4.3]

could be a fix of a issue in it with some cards if that were the case ??
