Hi everyone,

My motherboard comes with SATA II and I'd like upgrade it with PCI SSD. Is it possible?
I've checked BIOS, apart of HDD, Network and USB there is Other device. Any chance to boot from PCI SSD?

There's a chance, but it's slim. If you look to boards of that era, even ones with great (long term) support...... I don't believe booting from PCIe SSDs ever came along.

As I mentioned, workarounds exist; but involve modding the stock BIOS file from board vendor (or Lenovo in this case), and that's not a great idea.
You'd need BIOS support to boot from a PCIe SSD - something that's lacking natively on IvyBridge chipsets.

There are ways to force it (with varying degrees of success) - but I wouldn't expect it to be possible from an OEM board from Lenovo, no.

Thanks, Barty1884
I've missed totally "lacking natively on IvyBridge chipsets".
On the other hand the support for this motherboard is great - latest BIOS is from April 2017
