I have another question. How do I use a PCI video card? I have an old PCI card but it doesn't seem to work if I just plug it into a PCI slot on my Abit NF7-S board. I still get the POST beeps for no video card detected. Do I need to set a jumper setting on the board or something?

You can usually set the graphics card to agp in bios. If you did that, the board would not look for a pci card. In your situation, I would try clearing the bios, with the jumper on the mobo.

Thanks, I tried that and it starts up the first time, allowing me to get into the bios, but after that the graphics won't start up again until I reset the bios again using the jumper on the board. I haven't connected my hard drive yet I just want to try to get the PCI graphics card to load. Why does my graphics card only run the first time after clearing the bios?

Is it possible that my PCI graphics card is too old for my motherboard? If it is a PCI card shouldn't it work in all PCI slots or are PCI slots not created equal?

You still have not said whether you set it to "initial vga pci" or something like that in the bios... I am sure you have...

Well it could be way too crummy but it should still work. Go into options in BIOS and you see a section that says, "Integrated Peripherals". Go down to where it says, "Init Display First". Select PCI instead of AGP. In "Advanced Chipset Features" you can go to "Enhance PCI Performance" and select "Enable" to see if that helps.

The bios default is set to load PCI before AGP, Enhanced PCI is also default.
