Question PCIe 1x not working

My wireless network card only works in the top PCIe 1x slot or the other 16x slots but not the other 1x slots. I have only a gpu installed in the first 16x slot and if I plug my network card in a 16x slot it makes my first slot go to 8x.


Mobo: Z87- Expert Asus
CPU: i7-4771
Gpu: Rtx 2060.
Network card: Asus pce-ac68

Have you install the driver for the network card ? just for make sure.

yes I did and it works great on 16x slot. But doesn’t get picked up by device manager nor control panel.
