Question pcie 1x on pcie 16x or 8x slot?

im planning to but a pcie wifi card put i just want to know if i can put a pcie 1x slot on a pcie 8x slot or possibly the 16x one.
because it looks like it will not fit and if i does fit, it may be a little bit loose or it may move as there more horizontal space (if the motherboard is mounted at the case)
also i suspect it wont run at all but if it does run, its perfomeance might not be the same as when iy is at its original 1x slot

Yes you can. And PCIE x1 card in PCIE x16 slot will run at same speed as in PCIE x1 slot (assuming slots are same PCIE version of course).
